Ryan was mentioned in an article about Rachel,
about both of their future projects. Click
here to read the article, and here's an excerpt:
"She's also not shy about promoting the work of her boyfriend, actor Ryan Gosling, who appeared with her in the 2004 romance "The Notebook." For a planned movie version of the best-selling novel "The Time Traveler's Wife" in which Ms. McAdams may play the title character, she suggested to her representatives that Mr. Gosling might want to direct, say people familiar with the matter. (No decision has been made about the film's director.) She also has agreed to play the part of a nun in a gritty drama he co-wrote and plans to direct. Called "Lord's Resistant Army," it's adapted from a book about child soldiers in Uganda who are kidnapped and forced to fight. Mr. Gosling asked New Line Cinema executives to read the script this summer, and an official says the studio is considering making the film."
Ryan was named one of the most Powerful Canadians in Hollywood by Canadian Business Magazine. Click here to read the article.

APRIL 22 2006 - R&R sightings - Posted by Jamie @ 11:02am
Here are some R&R sightings from Defamer:
· 4/12, Downtown Los Angeles, 4:45pm, Ryan Gosling was walking by City Hall
after what I'm assuming to be a hard day of filming. He looked good, a little
thin, but very handsome in real life. Had a bit of an arrogant air about him,
like he expected to be recognized, but that was not unappealing. No sign of his
other half, Rachel McAdams.
· -4/9/06: Like McAdams loves Gosling...spotted these sweethearts at Millie's
Cafe in Silver Lake. They brunched with a male friend, who looked actor-ish, but
I couldn't place him. Ryan Gosling was just adorkable, and Rachel McAdams was a
tad dumpy, which surprised me because she seems to have adorable style
otherwise. They were very cute together and left together on his motorcycle.

MARCH 03, 2006 - Choke?/HN news - Posted by Jamie @ 2:54pm
Is Ryan's next project Choke? (Source):In Half Nelson news, 16 songs of Broken Social Scene will be the entire
soundtrack to the movie (YAY!) (Source):
"Devotees can expect more cinematic excursions. "That's the
[direction] we're heading in," singer Kevin Drew said. "When you have
kids and homes, you don't want to make your living touring. Plus, I came into
all this trying to do music for films."
Another film, the Brooklyn-based indie "Half Nelson" (starring Ryan
Gosling), also features Social Scene songs, albeit not tailored
compositions. The filmmakers asked to use a whopping 16 songs from the first two
BSS records, Feel Good Lost and You Forgot It in People. Naturally, the band was
a bit dubious at first.
"I thought it was absurd to take all this music," Drew said. "But
it's a really honest film."
"Parts of [the film's story] were inspired by the music we did years ago,
so in that regard it's an honor," said bassist/singer Brendan Canning."

"ThinkFilm has acquired worldwide rights to Ryan Fleck's Sundance '06

surprising newcomer, Shareeka Epps. The film centers on an improbable friendship
between an idealistic Brooklyn history high school teacher (Gosling) struggling
with a crack habit, and a student (Epps) facing life with an absent father and
overworked mother. A source close to the film said that the company is planning
a late summer or early fall release. Gosling and Epps performances have received
much positive buzz since the film's first screening at Sundance, which received

As for everyone who's been asking when Half Nelson going to be released, the
movie needs to be bought by a distributor before it can be released. Rotten

article about the Sundance Film Festival (thanks to nycgirl for posting):
"Filling the dramatic selection with uncompromisingly unknown directors with sketchy real-world prospects certainly makes the festival happy. And some of these films, for instance "Half Nelson," starring the always compelling Ryan Gosling as an urban public school teacher, are of quality. But as an overall philosophy, whether this attitude makes the competition pure or just purely unwatchable remains at least for now an open question."

JANUARY 04, 2005 - Gawker sighting - Posted by Jamie @ 9:57am
From Gawker.com (Sighting):
Had a nice spotting as I headed home for the holidays. In the security line at LaGuardia made eye contact with Ryan Gosling of The Notebook fame. Or
psuedo-fame, since I’m not sure he’s been in anything else. As I was studying his man purse/toilet kit and what appeared to be a work of literature, I realized he wasn’t alone. A teeny tiny blonde woman with a couple of large, expensive purses and her hair pulled back into a messy pony tail was with him. My line inched up to reveal that yes! It was Rachel McAdams! Based on their periodic canoodling, I would guess that they really are an item. She is very pretty, and they were very nice to a couple of regular folks who approached. And stars…they’re just like us! She purchased a bottle of booze in the duty-free shop. Perhaps she was bringing Ryan home to meet the ‘rents for the first time? Hope it went well!

Castle Rock, NL put cast on 'Fracture'
By Borys Kit
Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling are uniting for "Fracture," a thriller being directed by Gregory Hoblit for Castle Rock Entertainment and New Line Cinema.
Written by Daniel Pyne and Glenn Gers, the story follows an assistant DA (Gosling) who plays a cat-and-mouse game with a man (Hopkins) who tried to murder his wife and is set free on a series of technicalities.
Castle Rock is producing.
Toby Emmerich, Michael Disco and Sam Brown are overseeing for New Line.
The CAA-repped Hopkins is shooting Emilio Estevez's ensemble drama "Bobby" and stars in the upcoming Magnolia Pictures release "The World's Fastest Indian."
For Gosling, "Fracture" marks a return to both New Line and Castle Rock. Gosling starred in New Line's 2004 hit "The Notebook" and earlier in Castle Rock's "Murder by Numbers." Gosling -- repped by IFA Talent, Carolyn Govers and attorney Robert Offer -- appears in Regency's "Stay."
Hoblit, repped by WMA, began his career as a director by helming episodes of "Hill Street Blues" and "L.A. Law." He made his theatrical directorial debut in 1996 with the thriller "Primal Fear," starring Richard Gere, Laura Linney and Edward Norton. In 2000, he directed New Line's "Frequency," a time-travel suspense tale written by current New Line production president Emmerich. Most recently, he helmed 2002's "Hart's War," starring Bruce Willis and Colin Farrell, for MGM.

Ryan mentioned in newcitychicago.com (thanks to buttfaceluv for posting):
Trick or Treat Relief
"I kind of have a really big soft spot for Halloween," says Thomas Negovan of Century Guild Decorative Arts. That's why he's organizing the Chicago efforts to bring a little Halloween magic to the children of East Biloxi, Louisiana. This weekend's Halloween Costume Drive at Logan Square's Layer Resurrected Clothing hopes to send one truck full of tricks and treats to the community that has taken in an estimated 14,000 hurricane refugees, joining the fifty trucks of supplies already coordinated by a small Hollywood contingent in Louisiana. The celebrity network in East Biloxi--including Patricia Arquette and Ryan Gosling, according to Negovan--worked to inventory the donations and deliver them to needy families. "Instead of just dumping a pile of clothes on the street, the idea is to maximize the impact of donations," explains Negovan. "There are over 2,000 refugee kids in East Biloxi, and they could use some Halloween magic."

Don Cheadle and Ryan Gosling have some ideas for television that we could definitely get into.
"Let's do a reality show about some family on the run from the [Sudanese militia groups] Janjaweed," Gosling jokingly suggested in a three-way interview with Cheadle and BlackBook writer David Benioff in this month's issue of the mag. "Let's get Paris Hilton to Darfur," suggested Benioff. "See how she does."
"Where's my phone?" mocked "The Notebook" star, imitating Paris. "This sucks!"
"Darfur sucks," echoed Cheadle, laughing.
"We'd see 'Darfur sucks' T-shirts," added Gosling. "'Free Paris!'"
They just might be onto something there…

UP-SPIRAL:
"You get so inspired by others. Look at Angelina Jolie and all she does. I'm so excited about this project of hers," says Sean Astin. He's referring to "A Moment in the World," with 36 celebrities "stationed in different places, turning our cameras on what we were seeing during the same three minutes." That happened Jan. 11, and Astin and a film team were outside the Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires. Jolie herself was in Niger. Ryan Gosling, who talked about 'A Moment in the World' backstage at this week's Teen Choice Awards, was in Darfur at Jolie's suggestion -- and has since become passionate about raising awareness of the genocide in that Sudanese region. Other celebrities were in locales as diverse as Kosovo and an American Indian reservation for the film, which is being edited now.

JUNE 28, 2005 - Che News - Posted by Jamie @ 9:32am
I found this little excerpt on ClooneyStudio.com via Variety concerning the budget for Steven Soderbergh's next film The Good German, and it mentions Che:
"But Soderbergh is also so unpredictable a filmmaker, it's anybody's guess how he'll focus his creative energies in the months to come. He's planning to direct two studio pics over the next 12 months -- "The Good German" for Warner Bros., followed by a Che Guevara biopic for Focus Features. But the budget of "The Good German" has been a source of tension at Warners, home to Soderbergh's production shingle, Section 8. If he thumbs his nose at exhibitors with a series of low-budget projects financed by 2929, the friction with Warners could heat up."

Oprah: $1M Donation, Thanks to Ebersols
I can tell you exclusively that Oprah Winfrey, no stranger to showing her largesse, donated $1.2 million to a South African school last week.
It was all because of a documentary she watched on a plane while heading to the continent two weeks ago.
The school, Ithuteng Trust, is run by "Mama" Jackey Maarohanye in Soweto. It's actually a youth program that has already saved around 6,000 young people from the mean streets of Soweto, despite a violent lifestyle marked by extreme poverty.
Many of the children rescued by Ithuteng are rape victims. Winfrey openly talks about her rape at an early age by a family member.
News of Oprah's gift barely made a ripple out of South Africa back on June 14, when Winfrey presented "Mama" Jackey with her check.
But last night, more than two dozen heavy-hitter A-list media types heard the story at an exclusive screening of "Ithuteng" ("Never Stop Learning"), which was made by three perspicacious young men: brothers Willie and Charlie Ebersol and their friend Kip Kroeger.
If you recognize the last names, that's because Willie and Charlie are the 18- and 22-year-old sons of NBC Sports chief Dick Ebersol and actress Susan St. James. Another son, 14-year-old Teddy, died in a plane crash last winter.
The Ebersols' tragedy and determination, the story of Oprah, the saga of the school in South Africa and the fact that the dining room at the Plaza Athenée was filled with the kind of people who might have been at the premiere of "War of the Worlds" under different circumstances made for an extraordinary evening.
First of all, the guests at the screening and dinner: Mike Wallace, Lesley Stahl, FOX News' very own Linda Vester, former U.N. ambassador Richard Holbrooke, NBC News chief Neal Shapiro, NBC Entertainment chief Jeff Zucker, "O" Magazine editor Gayle King, Foreign Affairs magazine editor Jim Hoge, journalist Jeff Greenfield, Al Franken, author Stanley Crouch, former New York mayor David Dinkins, Tony-winning "Producers" star Cady Huffman, rock socialite Ann Dexter Jones, Premiere magazine editor Peter Herbst, journalist Jill Brooke and even a hot young movie star, Ryan Gosling, who'd heard about the film and wanted to see it.

APRIL 11, 2005 - 2ND UPDATE - Posted by Jamie @ 11:15am
Ryan will star in The Last Face alongside Javier Bardem and Robin Wright Penn, which begins filming in Africa this summer and ready for a April 2006 release. Miguel (Bardem), a talented and charismatic doctor, is forced to choose between his love for an American relief worker (Penn), or his dedication to saving lives in war-torn African nations. As of right now, I don't know what part Ryan is playing. For more information on the movie, check out Hannibal Pictures. Thanks to Jose at Robin Wright Rules for sending the info in.
Ryan is involved with The One campaign. Their aim is to rally Americans to fight AIDS, Starvation and Poverty. Make sure you look out for the PSA because Ryan is part of it. To see the PSA,

Lastly, an article that mentions Ryan: "John
Prendergast: Bush mistook me for Bono."
"...Los Angeles, 1 March: I head to the faux Oxbridge towers of UCLA, where Prendergast, Cheadle and actor Ryan Gosling have been invited to explain genocide to the students. The sight of the prime California youth slumped before Prendergast in stretch Gap might make you want to re-criminalise marijuana, but these are tomorrow's media moguls - and they vote.
The electricity of star power shoots through the hall as they recognise Cheadle and Gosling, who implore students to write to their congressmen. Prendergast, on three hours' sleep, breaks internationalism into digestible chunks. The students gradually sit up. He's funny and he's urgent: Rwanda's genocide was tolerated, he points out, because politicians deliberately made it sound more complex than it was. The mission works. Students are "impressed, overwhelmed and excited". Afterwards, Cheadle says: "John continues to make noise about something that needs constant noise. Tony Blair seems like his heart's in the right place. I hope he'll stand up and do the right thing for Darfur". That night, protest letters are retyped on iBooks all over campus. White House officials said they never heard from the American public during the Rwandan genocide. Prendergast won't rest until he makes sure they never use that excuse again...."

Ryan was mentioned in Sydney's Sun Herald yesterday (I couldn't be bothered to get the paper, lol), thanks to Becky for typing up Ryan's part in the article "They've Got What It Takes"
"Lanky Ryan Gosling 24, graduated from a full slate of television work about five years ago to appear in the sports movie 'Remember The Titans'. But it was the film made two years later, 'Murder By Numbers', that gave him his Hollywood buzz. It was as much his off-screen doings as his on-screen acting: he had an affair with his leading lady, Sandra Bullock, 16 years his senior. And that was before Demi met Ashton. "That dalliance cooled, but Canadian-born Gosling's career is still hot. Unlike a lot of his contemporaries, Gosling has managed to find a lot of prestige projects with important directors. He did a Nick Cassavetes film, 'The Notebook', last year and Steven Soderbergh has cast him in his version of the life of Che Guevara, 'Che'."

Ryan is going to be in an MTV special called I'm Still Here, a documentary about the end of the holocaust. Thanks to Mina for posting it in the USG forum.
MTV: Music Television will commemorate the anniversary of the end of the Holocaust with one-hour documentary I’m Still Here, set to debut Wednesday, May 4 at 8 p.m. (EST/PST).
The film “brings to life the diaries of young people who witnessed first-hand the horrors of the Holocaust” with archival footage, personal photos and text from the diaries themselves, the network said.
I’m Still Here is narrated by MTV News’ John Norris, with a special introduction from Zach Braff and music by Moby. The diaries are read by actors including Elijah Wood, Ryan Gosling, Kate Hudson, Oliver Hudson, Brittany Murphy, Amber Tamblyn and Joaquin Phoenix.
“The stories featured in I'm Still Here illustrate the strength and courage of these young people in such a personal way that is difficult to replicate in a history book," MTV News & Production executive vice president Dave Sirulnick said in a prepared statement.
"We're honored to be sharing these writers' experiences with our audience and possibly helping them to connect to this previous generation in ways that they may not have expected to,” he added.

RGfan transcribes us the whole segment on the show in her post:
Ryan Gosling co-stared in the movie The Notebook, But now he's staring at some paper work that accuses him of driving drunk. CJ captured this video of Gosling as he walked out of Los Angeles County Jail Thursday morning several hours after he was stopped by the California Highway Patrol in Hollywood. The CHP says Gosling's blood alcohol was .09, just over the legal limit in California.'
The ''video'' shows him walking down the street wearing a leather jacket w/ a cigarette, and water. The he says something to the guy filming him which you can't hear and then just keeps walking. It also shows a clip from TN trailer and him at the MBN premiere- and some other event -and some pics. They even were like ''Next, hunky star Ryan Gosling gets 'note-booked' '' lol. Well, I felt compelled to share that with yall incase you missed it. I'd look for it to come on again though.

Uh oh... it looks like filming for Che might be delayed again as Steven Soderbergh is starting a new project.
The Good German next for Soderbergh
Steven Soderbergh will next direct the romantic thriller The Good German, a project Section Eight will produce for Warner Bros. Pictures. The project, which may be filmed in black and white, has a September start date.
The movie follows an American journalist who finds himself drawn into a murder mystery when he returns to post-WWII Berlin to search for his wartime mistress.
Paul Attanasio adapted the screenplay. Section Eight bought the film rights to Joseph Kanon's book in February, 2001. At that time, it was believed George Clooney would take the leading role.
Clooney, however, has just started directing Goodnight, and Good Luck, which Warner Bros. is eyeing for a May, 2006 release.

A snippet of an Marc Forster interview talking about Stay:
In "Stay", a distraught young man announces to his
psychiatrist that he plans to commit suicide in three days. The
psychiatrist's desperate attempt to help his new patient leads him
through the city on an incredible, nightmarish journey that bends
reality.
Of the film, Forster says "I think it's too much to say it's
dark and complicated. It's a little more out there. In a sense, it's
sort of like Fight Club. It is darker, definitely. It goes back to
the Monster's Ball roots. But it definitely has hope as well. You
have to engage in the film. You can't just relax and enjoy".
A more specific release date has yet to be set, though the film did
appear on Fox's 2004 slate back in January last year so why the
delay happened remains a big question.

NOVEMBER 24, 2004
For anyone hasn't read this already, thanks to Meesin on the tagboard for posting this:
Paris, Famke Eyeing Ryan?
Paris Hilton rarely fails to get her man, as evidenced by Mark Philippoussis, Simon Rex, Nick Carter, Rick Salomon, Jason Shaw, Deryck Whibley & well, you get the idea. But is the publicity-addicted celebutante prepared to battle Marvel Girl to land a new squeeze?
According to the New York Post, Paris was seen "snuggling" with under-the-radar actor Ryan Gosling, 24, at a Manhattan hotspot last week.
All well and good (well, maybe not for the squeaky-clean Gosling), except the New York Daily News says that just days before, he was spied getting up close and personal with "X-Men" hottie Famke Janssen at a New York soiree.
"There was definite chemistry there," an insider tells the paper of the Ryan-Famke connection, "and they left and spent most of the night together."
Gosling's rep didn't get back to us about his current relationship status, but we're guessing Janssen, 39, may be more his speed than the 23-year-old Hilton.
The "Notebook" star and former Mouseketeer previously romanced the more mature (and hey, more power to
'em) Sandra Bullock, 40, whose face he licked in "Murder by Numbers."

Before you read this, this is just a rumour - from NY Daily News (thanks to Mina at the USG forum):
What's going on with Famke Janssen and Ryan Gosling?
I hear the two enjoyed a romantic encounter after meeting at the recent Glamour magazine Woman of the Year Awards.
The American Museum of Natural History had been transformed into an Ali Baba-themed wonderland for the after-party. Janssen, 40, danced with "CSI: Miami" alum Rory
Cochrane, while Gosling, 24, chatted with actor Sam Rockwell, until hostess Amy Sacco introduced the pair.
"There was definite chemistry there, and they left and spent most of the night together," says a source.
A rep for Janssen said she didn't know if there was a love connection with Gosling, the "Notebook" star who was previously linked with cradle-snatcher Sandra Bullock, also 40.
And it was just 10 years ago that he was performing on "The Mickey Mouse Club" with that other famous older-womanizer, Justin Timberlake. Clearly, something about those mouse ears drives the ladies crazy.

Stay was mentioned in the article, 'Neverland' lightens up director a bit:
(Marc) Forster, who grew up in the ski-resort town of Davos and lives in Los Angeles, has finished another project since
Neverland. It's called Stay, with Ewan McGregor, Ryan Gosling and Naomi Watts. The subject: suicide.
"Yes, it's dark," Forster says with a chuckle. "I think some people will be confused and will dismiss the movie, but I really am happy with it. It's not as emotionally pleasing as Neverland or even something like Monster's Ball. It's a little tricky, complicated."
Look for Stay early next year.

GOOD MORNING LOWCOUNTRY
GMLc is the sort of moviegoer who sits through the entire final credits. Once everybody else has (rudely) walked in front of us, we find out the name of the animal wrangler, the personal assistant
to Ms. Thurman or Mr. Tarantino, the hair people, the caterer, the prop master, the stunt guy, the rainmaker... and, most
vital, location and soundtrack info.
Why do we sit there? We have friends who work in the movie business, plus we consider the credits part of the picture...
even when they last an interminable 15 or 20 minutes (as in those Hobbit movies).
If you go to the sneak preview of the Nick Cassavetes film "The Notebook" Saturday night at 7 at Citadel Mall, stay for the
credits.
"The Notebook" was filmed for 128 days in Berkeley, Charleston and Georgetown counties in 2002 and 2003, spending an average
of $97,000 per day. King Street and Broad Street were closed for a period setting with vintage cars. Dozens of pluff-mudders
spotted the players around the Lowcountry and dozens more S.C. film professionals worked on the movie.
Among them, cinematographer Keith Sherer of Mount Pleasantñbased Island Boy Film was director of photography for what
Cassavetes named the "Beauty Unit" and shot special visual effects.
The film also had a "Waterfowl Unit"...
DUCKS AND GEESE: "An important scene in the movie," Sherer said, "is when Rachel (McAdams) and Ryan (Gosling) go to his
special place. His special place is an estuary (shot at Cypress Gardens) that is just filled with birds and birds and birds."
The Waterfowl Unit raised the birds (ducks and geese) from eggs and trained them for the scene, he said. The duck and geese
wrangler for the Waterfowl Unit was Lowcountry native Dan Hydrick.
"We photographed the shots in quadrants," Sherer said. "They would herd the ducks into one quadrant and we would shoot it
and sometimes have as many as eight quadrants in one shot, so it would look like endless birds."
Get it?
We don't, either. But think of the 1,000-ships scene in "Troy" (there weren't really 1,000 ships).
Sherer was also the B camera operator and shot the opening title sequence of the film.
The guy rowing a scull in those shots is Tim Ivey of the S.C. Department of Natural Resources.
BEAUTY SHOTS: "The Notebook" is not the first film to take advantage of Lowcountry scenery.
"That's exactly why I moved here," Sherer said. "I fell in love with it when I first worked on 'The Lords of Discipline'."
And how 'bout that Lowcountry light?
"You shoot at the correct time of day, darlin'," he said, laughing. "That's part of being a good cinematographer, knowing
which way to aim your camera."
An NYU film graduate, Sherer went from electrician to best boy to gaffer to cinematographer in Atlanta before coming to his
senses and relocating to God's country.
"The Notebook" will also be screened Thursday night (June 17) at 7 at American Theater on King Street for local cast and
crew and for the public.
Tickets are $25 more than Our Favorite Price... but proceeds benefit both MUSC Hospital and the planned Charleston Film
Festival. Popcorn and soda are our favorite price. Call 792-9669 or e-mail notebookpremiere@aol. com for tickets.

'The Notebook' Gets an Early Start on Spidey
By Martin A. Grove
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - In a summer front-loaded with popcorn movies, counter programming with adult appeal product can be very effective.
That's clearly the strategy with director Nick Cassavetes' PG-13 romantic drama "The Notebook," opening wide June 25 via New Line, just five days before the "Spider-Man" sequel pulls in the expected masses.
Based on Nicholas Sparks' best-selling novel, "Notebook's" love story begins in the coastal town of Seabrook, North Carolina in the 1940s as Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams' characters begin a summer romance only to be driven apart by her parents and World War II. Their story of enduring love is revealed decades later in a Southern nursing home to an older woman (Gena
Rowlands) whose failing memory is briefly awakened when James Garner's character visits to read her stories from a mysterious notebook about these long-ago young lovers.
"I'm hoping (the movie will attract) those people who bought the book -- and the majority seems to have been women," said Mark Johnson, who produced the project with Lynn Harris. "Although I have to say that in testing it the men who have seen this movie rate it as highly as the women do. This is the highest testing movie I have ever had -- and that includes 'Rain Man,' 'Good Morning Vietnam' and 'The Rookie."
The story took seven years to reach the screen, going through many personnel changes. Australian screenwriter Jan Sardi ("Shine") is credited with the adaptation, while the final screenplay was from Jeremy
Leven. Several directors also got involved along the way.
Steven Spielberg, for instance, "was involved," Johnson said. "We had some really productive conversations with him. And then Jim Sheridan was involved for close to two years. And, in fact, a deal was made for Ashley Judd to star in it with Jim Sheridan (directing). And then Martin Campbell came very close to directing it, too.
Cassavetes entered the picture about two years ago, soon after directing New Line's Denzel Washington vehicle "John Q" for New Line. The first person they cast was Gosling.
"(A)nd to this day I'm amazed that we got him because he's a very serious actor who is associated with really darker more independent movies," Johnson said. "I was really impressed that he was willing to do this traditional love story. Then we interviewed a number of actresses and came up with this really unknown Rachel McAdams (currently in theaters with "Mean Girls").
The film, budgeted at under $32 million, began its four-month shoot in November 2002, taking place mostly in Charleston, S.C.
"There is a night exterior scene -- a very long scene -- that we shot in the dead of winter in Charleston and it was very cold (then)," Johnson said. "My hat's off to the actors because they had to be wearing very light clothes and pretending like it was the middle of summer and it was far from that."
Another challenging aspect of production, he added, was "a great sequence in the film that involves ducks. That may have been the most difficult thing in the movie. It involved training ducks from age three days. (There was) a duck wrangler. The film actually gives a credit to a Waterfowl Unit (for) a sequence with hundreds of ducks, a very beautiful sequence that involved some very intricate work. Our executive producer Butch Kaplan really stayed on top of that and I'll be damned if the ducks didn't do what they were supposed to do!"
